April 2, 2025 – Kasetsart University (KU) hosted a strategic meeting with the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), China, to advance collaborative initiatives between the two institutions. The meeting was held at the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narongrit Muangmai, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization, welcomed Prof. SUN Jinghong, Vice Chancellor of USTB. Key participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sathaporn Chuepeng, Vice President for Sriracha Campus, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suchat Leungprasert, Vice Dean for Administration, Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchatee Techapiesancharoenkij, Head of Department of Materials Engineering. Other administrators from both institutions were also present at the meeting.
This meeting builds on the foundation established two years ago following Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sathaporn Chuepeng’s visit to USTB, which is currently ranked 430th in the QS World University Rankings 2025. The partnership has already yielded student and staff exchange programs, dual degree programs, and joint research projects with KU’s Sriracha Campus.
While discussions centered on engineering collaborations, both institutions expressed interest in expanding into areas including railway transport development to China, agricultural product cooperation, cultural exchange programs, and marine mineral exploration. The meeting concluded with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narongrit Muangmai presenting a commemorative gift to Prof. SUN Jinghong, marking another milestone in this important international academic partnership.
