On February 13, 2023 \u2013 Asst. Prof. Dr. Prapot Khunthong and Dr. Kanet Katchasuwanmanee, Associate
Dean and Assistant Dean for Academic Services and Industrial Cooperation, respectively, along with
Professor Mark Ogden, Vice Chancellor, and Professor Kevin Fynn, Director of Industrial Cooperation
from Curtin University in Australia, as well as Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, a former deputy prime minister and
senior consultant for the Energy Transition Center of Excellence Project, conducted a meeting with Mr.
Supattanapong Phanmeechaow, Minister of Energy, and Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Pisut
Meeramankul, Secretary to the Minister of Energy, and Mr. Sarrat Prakobchart, Deputy Director of the
Energy Policy and Planning Office, to discuss ways to raise funds for the establishment of the Center of
Excellence in Energy Transition or CEET at the Energy Complex, Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

February 14, 2023 \u2013 Prof. Dr. Wanchai Yodsudchai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Associate
Professor Dr. Weerachai Chaiyaworapruek, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, together
with a Mechanical Engineering working team and representatives from Curtin University, discussed the
implementation plan for the establishment of the Center of Excellence in Energy Transition (CEET) at the
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. In order to further investigate the
establishment of the center, they also visited the Industrial Manufacturing Technology Research and
Development Center (RDiPT) and assessed its readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to the policy on renewable energy, clean energy, and net-zero carbon emissions from the
Prime Minister\u2019s speech to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of
the Parties (UNFCCC COP-COP26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom, Thailand has aimed at setting itself a
higher standard for addressing global climate problems.<\/p>\n
