On Thursday, 24 April 2025, a delegation from Kasetsart University (KU) welcomed Professor John Bell, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) from the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia, for a discussion on academic and research collaboration. The meeting took place at Meeting Room 10, 10th Floor, Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing KU were Asst. Prof. Krit Won-in, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovations and Social Missions; Assoc. Prof. Donludee Jaisut, Ph.D., Vice Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture; Assoc. Prof. Siripon Anantawaraskul, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research Affairs and Innovation, Faculty of Engineering; Asst. Prof. Jiramate Changklom, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Thanankhorn Jaiphong, Assistant Dean for Innovation and Social Impact Partnerships, Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen; Asst. Prof. Sombat Khawprateep, Ph.D., Department of Farm Mechanics, Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen; Asst. Prof. Thunyapat Thongyen, Ph.D., Department of Environmental Technology and Management, Faculty of Environment; Assoc. Prof. Nopparat Kaakkurivaara, Ph.D., Deputy Director for Research and International Affairs, Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute; Mr. Rattapan Trongwiwat, Head of International Relations and Global Affairs, Faculty of Science; and a qualified expert from the Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion emphasized ongoing and future collaboration between the two institutions. KU and UniSQ have enjoyed a strong relationship since signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023, facilitated by Asst. Prof. Sombat Khawprateep, Ph.D., a UniSQ alumnus. One notable outcome of this partnership was the successful KU & UniSQ Student Exchange 2024 program, co-organized by the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, UniSQ, which serves approximately 27,000 students, 10% of whom are international, highlighted its commitment to further academic cooperation, particularly in the areas of agriculture and engineering. Professor Bell presented UniSQ\u2019s four flagship research focus areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Space & Defense (IAESS)<\/li>
  • Agriculture & Environment (ILSE)<\/li>
  • Regional Development (IRR)<\/li>
  • Health (IRR)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Both parties actively exchanged ideas and explored mutual interests that could serve as a foundation for future joint initiatives. The meeting concluded with a group photo, symbolizing the shared commitment to expanding global academic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
