The Faculty of Engineering extends it heartfelt congratulations to a team of faculty members, alumni, and current students from the Departments of Electrical Engineering at Kasetsart University and Chulalongkorn University for gaining the Grand Winner award at Tech Planter Thailand 2026, a deep technology incubation and innovation competition, organized by Leave a Nest Singapore on 18 July 2026. The contest was held at the Chalerm Rajakumari 60th Anniversary Building, Chulalongkorn University. The Tech Planter program is aimed at discovering and nurturing entrepreneurs in the field of emerging technologies and targets early-stage startups and pre-startup researchers’ teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Grand Winner, the team received a cash prize of THB 50,000 and an invitation to compete in the Tech Planter Asia Final 2026 as Thailand\u2019s representative. There, the team will present its technology alongside teams from across Asia, while gaining valuable opportunities to build international networks and develop technology and business collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research team is a collaboration between the Plasma Research Laboratory of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, and Plasma Innovation Co., Ltd. It is focused on developing cold-plasma and plasma-activated liquid (PAL) technologies to improve food safety, reduce chemical use, and support sustainable technology development for the food, agriculture, and bioindustry sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team members are Associate Professor Dr. Siwapol Srisonphan, lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University; Ms. Jiratchaya Puttha of Plasma Innovation Co., Ltd., an alumna of Kasetsart University\u2019s Department of Electrical Engineering with both bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees; Ms. Puricha Saengdamrongkiat and Mr. Suthinan Boonphian, undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Kasetsart University; and Mr. Kantharakorn Pitakkorn, a student in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
