March 13, 2025 – Kasetsart University’s Faculty of Engineering marked a significant milestone in preparing students for industry challenges through a special ceremony that celebrated both academic-industry collaboration and student achievement. The event, held at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, showcased the success of the “KU-Mech X” program and honored the university’s championship-winning “Dongtaan Racing Team.”
Building Industry Bridges: New Strategic Partnerships
The highlight of the ceremony was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between Kasetsart University and three global industry leaders: DAIKIN Group, Delta Electronics (Thailand), and Siemens Industry Software. These new partnerships aim to enhance educational opportunities, provide industry exposure, and create career pathways for engineering students.
Associate Professor Dr. Apisit Songsasen, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, emphasized the university’s commitment to producing graduates equipped for real-world challenges: “These partnerships represent our dedication to education that goes beyond theoretical knowledge, preparing students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.”
KU-Mech X: Transforming Engineering Education

Launched in November 2024, the KU-Mech X program exemplifies Kasetsart University’s innovative approach to engineering education. Under the theme “UNLOCK YOUR FUTURE,” the initiative brings industry expertise directly into student development through specialized training modules:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving workshops led by Siam Daikin Sales
- Digital Twin technology training from Siemens
- Communication and presentation skills development with Delta Electronics
- Project management and Kaizen principles taught by SIAM DENSO Manufacturing
Assistant Professor Dr. Weerawoot Kanokbanakorn, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, noted: “KU-Mech X bridges the gap between academic theory and industry practice, giving our students a competitive advantage as they enter the workforce.”
Racing to Victory: Dongtaan Team’s Fifth Championship

The ceremony also celebrated the remarkable achievement of the university’s Dongtaan Racing Team, which claimed its fifth championship title at the TSAE Auto Challenge 2025 held in January at Pathum Thani Speedway.
What makes this victory particularly noteworthy is the team’s multidisciplinary approach. Comprising students from Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Forestry, and Economics faculties, the team competed with both combustion engine (DTR14) and electric-powered (DTR01) vehicles, demonstrating the university’s commitment to both traditional engineering excellence and sustainable innovation.
Following the formal ceremony, attendees were treated to a special demonstration by the championship team, showcasing their award-winning Formula vehicles in action.
Looking Forward

Industry leaders from the partner companies expressed strong support for the collaboration with Kasetsart University. Representatives from DAIKIN Group, DENSO Thailand, Delta Electronics (Thailand), and Siemens Limited shared their enthusiasm about the potential of working with the university’s talented engineering students. They emphasized the mutual benefits of these partnerships, highlighting how industry involvement in education helps shape engineering graduates who are better prepared for real-world challenges. The executives particularly noted their commitment to providing meaningful learning experiences that complement academic knowledge with practical industry insights, ultimately strengthening Thailand’s engineering talent pipeline.
Associate Professor Dr. Weerachai Chaiworrapuek, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, concluded the ceremony with an optimistic outlook: “Today represents not just a celebration of past achievements, but the beginning of new opportunities that will benefit our students, the university, and our industry partners alike.”
With these strengthened industry connections and continued focus on practical, hands-on learning experiences, Kasetsart University’s Faculty of Engineering continues to position itself as a leader in preparing work-ready graduates equipped to drive innovation in Thailand’s engineering sector.
The Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University remains committed to producing high-quality graduates prepared to face the challenges of modern industry through innovative programs and meaningful industry partnerships.
