On March 4, 2021, the Engineering Alumni Association of Kasetsart University, led by KU E26 alumni along with representatives of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, joined the presentation of COVID-19 preventive equipment to Nakhon Tha Chalom (Samut Sakhon 3) Hospital. The equipment consisted of a positive pressure isolation chamber and face shields. These were presented to Dr. Anukul Thaithanan, director of Samut Sakhon Hospital, along with the hospital administrators in attendance.
On March 8, 2021, Assistant Professor Dr. Panya Lao-anantana, the director of the Integrated Innovation Technology and AI Center, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, presented COVID-19 preventive equipment to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital. The equipment consisted of a disinfectant aerosol robot,”Nong Nonsee”, as well as face shields. These were presented to Air Vice-marshal Thaweepong Pajareya, director of the hospital, along with the hospital’s medical personnel in attendance.
The Faculty of Engineering aims to develop and produce innovations that are medically necessary and which are delivered to hospitals across the country for the treatment of patients and to help prevent COVID-19 infection for the medical team under the “Engineering fights against COVID-19 program”. This equipment (positive pressure isolation chamber, disinfectant aerosol robot and face shields) has so far been used in over 100 hospitals.
