
On Tuesday, 27 May 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, participated in a strategic meeting to explore academic and research collaboration in sustainable construction with the School of Construction and Environment (SoCE), British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Canada. The session welcomed Dr. Guido Wimmers, Dean of SoCE, BCIT. The visit was facilitated in coordination with the Embassy of Canada to Thailand.
The meeting was led by Prof. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization. Asst. Prof. Jiramate Changklom, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, represented the Faculty and took part in the exchange alongside KU administrators from Architecture, Environment, and the International College.
Dr. Wimmers, a prominent figure in sustainable construction and Passive House Standards, shared perspectives on global practices in green building and wood construction technologies. He also leads the Master of Engineering in Timber Engineering at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC).
The Faculty of Engineering presented its academic programs and ongoing research relevant to sustainability and expressed strong interest in potential joint projects and student exchange with BCIT. The session concluded with a visit to the Faculty of Architecture to further discuss areas for collaboration.
