A popular annual event of Kasetsart University, “Kaset Fair 2024” was held from 2nd until 10th February this year. The nine-day event was held across more than a dozen designated zones on the university’s Bangkhen campus in Bangkok. Several hundred food stalls and shops along with various research exhibition booths welcomed thousands of visitors. A wide range of vendors and exhibitors from across Thailand assembled on the campus grounds, where they set up booths and exhibitions along the university’s roads to sell and demonstrate various types of agricultural tools and machinery, produce, foodstuffs, kitchen wares, amenities, clothes, tools and even pet supplies.
Kasetsart University strives towards being a role model for society by organizing the 2024 Agricultural Fair in a zero carbon format, in order to further efforts towards reducing global warming and environmental destruction. To this end, the latest advances in agricultural technology, innovations in farming methods and improved adaptation to climate change were among the highlights of this year’s annual event.
The Faculty of Engineering’s theme for this year’s event was Sustainovation. Hydrogen power, farming technology, agricultural robots, carbon capture and storage, sustainable energy, biocompostable materials, automotive and aircraft technology, and educational robots were displayed, with the faculty’s engineering students on hand to demonstrate and explain these innovations to the public. Highlights included the Kaset Station exhibition that showcased the university’s latest research and innovation achievements in agriculture.
For shoppers, the Kasetsart Floating Market brought together local produce, fresh flowers and OTOP (One Tambon, One Product) merchandise in one convenient location. Plant and pet lovers found their favourite products in the Plants of Love and Pet Society zones, while all family members were able to relax in the Fun Park which also featured countless street food vendors.
