The 11th International Conference on Environmental Engineering, Science and Management

Environmental Engineering Association of Thailand (EEAT), together with Faculty of Engineering (Department of Environmental Engineering), Kasetsart University had organized the special seminar topic “Possibility to Use Treated Wastewater as Water Reclamation and Reuse” in the “The 11th International Conference on Environmental Engineering, Science and Management” on May 12, 2022, 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Hybrid format (Online and Onsite at Pathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok)

The event was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Patamaporn Sripadungtham, Vice Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, and featured experts and professors from Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Japan. The agenda was as follows:


1:30 p.m. – 1:40 p.m. Welcome remarks by Associate Professor Dr. Peerayuth Charnsethikul Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand

1:40 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Using treated wastewater as water reclamation and reuse (case studies: decentralized and centralized WWTPs) by Associate Professor Pongsak Noophan, Ph.D. Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University,Thailand

2.00 p.m.– 2:20 p.m. Using treated wastewater as water reclamation and reuse (case study in Taiwan) by Professor Chi Wang Li, Ph.D. Department of Water Resource and Environmental Engineering, Tamkang University, Taiwan

2.20 p.m.– 2:40 p.m. Using treated wastewater as Water reclamation and reuse (case studyin Singapore) by Associate Professor Dr. Olivier Lefebvre, Department of Civil andEnvironmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore

2.40 p.m.– 3:10 p.m. Emerging water environment issues relating to pharmaceuticals, personal care products (PPCPs) and microplastics by Professor Dr. Chongrak Polprasert, Fellow of the Academy of Science, The Royal Society of Thailand and Thammasat School of Engineering, Thammasat University, Thailand

3.10 p.m.– 3:45 p.m. Wastewater reclamation situation in USA and Japan (case studies of microbial risks, and chemical risks by Professor Dr. Satoshi Okabe, Division of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan

3:45 p.m. – 4:00 pm Discuss on the issue of solving water shortage problem by using treated wastewater as water reclamation and reuse by Associate Professor Dr. Pongsak Noophan, Professor Dr. Chi Wang Li, Professor Dr. Chongrak Polprasert, and Professor Dr. Satoshi Okabe.

The conference’s goal is to bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, and other practitioners to share and exchange information through presenting research and practical case studies. This can serve not only with national and local environmental issues, but also with strengthening the network of environmental institutes and organizations.
