Faculty members from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (KU-Mech) and the Department of Aerospace Engineering (KU Aerospace and Aviation), Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, previously joined forces with AppliCAD Public Company Limited to establish a collaboration framework for developing students’ engineering design skills and preparing them for the internationally recognized Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) certification.
Now, the partnership is taking another step onto the global stage. Regional representatives from France-based Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in engineering and 3D simulation software, joined discussions on expanding and deepening the collaboration. The delegation was led by Ms Sherlyn Tan, Partner Capacity Manager, Customer Role Experience, from the company’s regional headquarters in Singapore.

Key Outcomes of the three-way collaboration: Kasetsart University, AppliCAD, and Dassault Systèmes:
1. Global certification opportunities for every student
The initiative aims to give students in engineering drawing and design courses access to industry-standard software and the opportunity to take the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA) exam—earning an internationally recognized credential before graduation.
2. End-to-end digital engineering with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform
The partners plan to build a comprehensive digital engineering curriculum that connects reverse engineering, 3D design and simulation, and advanced digital manufacturing. Using an industry-grade platform, students will gain an international perspective on the full design lifecycle.
This collaboration marks an important step in connecting the university, domestic industry partners, and a global technology provider to prepare Kasetsart University students to become industry-ready talent for the next generation of engineering.
Stay tuned for updates and upcoming activities!
