On 15 October 2026, Assoc Prof Dr Adichai Pornpromin, Head of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, along with faculty members and staff, led undergraduate students from his department on a study visit to the Bangkhen Water Treatment Plant of the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA). The visit was designed to strengthen students’ practical knowledge and experience in water management and the production of tap water that meets international standards.

Students had the opportunity to learn about key stages in a large-scale water treatment system, from raw-water intake and sedimentation to filtration and quality control, which ensures that tap water is clean and safe in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) standards. These processes are central to the work of water engineers, who help meet the needs of urban communities and manage water resources sustainably.
