January 27,2023 – Asst. Prof. Dr. Dulpichet Rerkpreedapong, Associate Dean for Academic
Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Weerawoot Kanokbannakorn, Associate Dean for Student Affairs,
together with professors from the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University visited Kyushu
Institute of Technology (Kyutech) in Japan. Both institutes discussed their current and future
cooperation in education and research.
For many years, Engineering KU and Kyutech have worked together effectively in a rewarding
collaboration. Several professors at our Faculty of Engineering are Kyutech alumni. They are
currently engaged in advanced discussions to jointly develop a Double Degree Program in
various fields. This will include sending students from Thailand to conduct short-term
internships at Kyutech this summer.
In this trip, the KU Engineering team also visited the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka.
The Consul General (Mr. Sorat Sukthavorn) appreciates the academic network and development
of educational cooperation between both universities. In his opinion it will help create qualified
and knowledgeable Thai personnel. It is furthermore aimed at strengthening the relationship
between Thai and Japanese educational institutions, for the purpose of which the Consulate-
General will facilitate the cooperation in various fields between the two universities.
