
n July 8, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchatee Techapiesancharoenkij warmly welcomed and participated in an interview with a research delegation from Japan, including:
- Prof. Patrick Shorb, Head of Institutional Research, School of International Communication, Kansai University of International Studies
- Prof. Toru Hayashi, Vice Director of the Center for Management of Teaching and Learning, Kanazawa University
- Dr. Satoshi Ozeki, Center for Institutional Research, University of Miyazaki
The visit was part of the research project titled “Evaluating Teaching Collaborations between Japanese and Southeast Asian Engineering Programs: Sharing Quality Enhancement Practices in an Internationalizing Higher Education Context.”
The purpose of the interview was to gather insights on academic and research collaborations between Japan and ASEAN countries. The Department of Materials Engineering has been actively involved in strong academic cooperation with institutions such as Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan and University of Yangon, Myanmar, under the support of AUN/SEED-Net.
These collaborations have resulted in the development of joint-degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels, as well as co-authored research projects. The department was pleased to contribute to the study by sharing valuable information that may help strengthen future academic partnerships between Japan and ASEAN.
