They discussed the opportunities for strengthening academic collaborations between both universities, especially 2+2 dual/double/joint doctoral degree programs in the fields of mechanical engineering, energy engineering in such areas as hydrogen technology, green energy, carbon neutrality, net zero emissions and aerospace engineering to enhance research collaboration and quality, as well as the possibility of integrating PhD dissertation into joint research projects of Kasetsart University and Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization) or GISTDA.
In this connection, Kasetsart University gave them some idea of visiting professorships and exchange of faculty members/researchers that could be linked with research projects to raise innovation profiles of both universities and lead to other kinds of academic activities including co-supervision for PhD students in the degree programs mentioned above and exchange of students.
Both sides agreed to have a more thorough discussion of these matters next time. Kasetsart University also assigned two representatives of the Faculty of Engineering, Kanet Katchasuwanmanee, Ph.D., and Assistant Professor Worapong Sawangsri, Ph.D., who were Brunel University London alumni, as nodal officers to coordinate and provide timely updates on overall progress reports of the projects between both universities.
