SKUBA team runners-up at World RoboCup 2024

The Faculty of Engineering would like to express its appreciation and congratulations to Team SKUBA of the Faculty of Engineering who claimed the runners-up prize at the World RoboCup 2014, the world’s largest robotics competition, which is held annually among students from around the globe.

Team Skuba, comprising students from our Faculty of Engineering, achieved their runners-up award in the category of Indoor Robots @Home, Social Standard Platform League (SSPL). The World RoboCup 2024 was held from July 15 to 22, 2024 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.  The members of the SKUBA team consisted of team captain Mr. Pakapon Tengchataphant, Mr. Kantinan Chuangrangsee, and Mr. Noppanat Thongtan (Ph.D. student) of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Mr. Ratchakorn Anantananon of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They were ably supported by their team advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanjanapan Sukvichai of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The @Home robotics contest focuses on robots performing a wide range of automated household tasks such as food preparation, various kitchen tasks, waste collection and sorting, as well as caring for elderly and disabled people in the home. This year, 32 teams from 19 countries worldwide participated.
