On July 16, 2024, Professor Dr. Wanchai Yodsutjai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, along with Associate Professor Dr. Ratchatee Techapiesancharoenkij, Head of the Department of Materials Engineering, and Associate Professor Dr. Onthai Chongprateep, Faculty Member of the Department of Materials Engineering, welcomed Professor Kiyotaka Sasagawa from the Photonic Device Science Lab and Assistant Professor Nalinthip Chanthaset from the Nanomaterials and Polymer Chemistry Lab, Materials Science Division, Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST). The purpose of the visit was to discuss and update activities and collaborative plans between the two institutions.
Upcoming Events: August 2024
In August of this year, the two institutions will hold a signing ceremony for a dual degree program agreement at the master’s and doctoral levels. The agreement will cover the fields of Computer Engineering and Materials Engineering. Additionally, there will be a ceremony to establish the NAIST Alumni Association of Thailand, which will be headquartered at the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University.
Scholarship Opportunities and Student Exchange Programs
Moreover, Professor Sasagawa and Assistant Professor Nalinthip took the opportunity to provide information on scholarship opportunities and student exchange activities for undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Materials Engineering. Over the years, alumni of the department have been granted scholarships for further studies—more than 10 students have received either Japanese government scholarships or university scholarships to pursue master’s or doctoral degrees, marking a longstanding international collaboration.
