
On February 18, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Chinnathan Areeprasert from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Head of the Energy and Environmental Engineering Center, Bangkhen, Faculty of Engineering, was invited to attend the KAUST Research Conference: Optimizing Energy in the Circular Economy. The conference was held at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Areeprasert gave a presentation in Session 4-Biomass-based Waste Valorization: Unlocking Renewable Potential on the topic “Innovative Waste Conversion Strategies for Community Toward Circular Economy Development in Thailand.”


The presentation focused on municipal waste management approaches for communities by applying technologies that convert waste into energy and valuable resources, which is an important approach in developing the circular economy in Thailand. The content covered technologies appropriate for community contexts and processes for converting waste into energy and beneficial products.
Additionally, the conference provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange and experiences among experts, researchers, and stakeholders from industry and government sectors from various countries. The goal was to collaboratively find possible approaches to develop processes for adding value to waste and garbage to further develop the circular economy and environmental technologies.
