September 22, 2023 – Kasetsart University by Faculty of Engineering organized a signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding for Scientific and Industrial Collaboration in AI-Assisted Systems for Operation Control Centers to develop the country’s railway technology and industry between Kasetsart University by Faculty of Engineering Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (RTRDA), École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile (ESTACA) and Égis Rail Thailand Company Limited (EGIS).
The signatories to this MOU are Professor Dr. Wanchai Yodsudjai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Santi Charoenpornpatthana, Director of RTRDA, Mr. Chérif Larouci; Research Director of ESTACA laboratory and Mr. Philippe Schulzinger Asia Regional Director, Business Line Transportation Egis Rail (Thailand) Co., Ltd. There were faculty and administrators from all 4 institutions participating in the ceremony held at meeting room 0203, Chuchat Kamphu Building, Faculty of Engineering.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the four agencies will cooperate in using AI systems for operations control centers to develop the key elements in the railway industry ecosystem, comprising technology development strategy, research and development of technology and innovation, standards and testing systems, entrepreneurial competency development and specialized manpower development in line with industry needs.
