Faculty of Engineering Hosts The 3rd Multi-International Workshop, Bringing Together Engineering Students from 8 Countries for Global Skill Development

The Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University (KU), in collaboration with KU’s International Affairs Division, organized “The 3rd Multi-international Workshop for Engineering Students” during February 15-21, 2025. The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerachai Chaiworapuek, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.


The opening ceremony was held on February 15, 2025, at the conference room on the 19th floor of the Mechanical Engineering Building, presided over by Prof. Dr. Wanchai Yodsudjai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The workshop brought together students from 8 countries, including leading institutions such as Ecam Lasalle (France), De Lasalle (Philippines), National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan), Ewha Womans University (Korea), Institute of Technology of Cambodia (Cambodia), Keio University, Shizuoka University and Osaka Sangyo University (Japan), Northern Institute of Technology Management (Germany), UMPSA (Malaysia), and Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. From the Faculty of Engineering, students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering, Department of Aerospace Engineering, and Department of Chemical Engineering participated, bringing the total attendance to over 130 participants at the opening ceremony.


The main activities included academic poster presentations, international group work, and medical device design and modeling in collaboration with Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics. Cultural exchange activities, such as Thai cooking classes, were also organized.

On February 17, 2025, participants visited the NMB-Minebea Thai factory in Ayutthaya, where they attended a business overview presentation, toured the industrial parts manufacturing facilities, learned about the factory’s operational standards, and engaged in group brainstorming activities. The visit was followed by cultural excursions to Sriayutthaya Lion Park and Wat Chaiwatthanaram.


The workshop aimed to develop essential global competencies for students in the 21st century, enhance international readiness, and establish long-term academic networks between institutions, leading to sustainable innovation and collaboration in the future.
