On 20 September, 2026, the Department of Aerospace Engineering welcomed 50 teachers, parents, and students from Samsenwittayalai School for an aerospace engineering learning activity. The visit gave students the chance to learn through direct experience and get a feel for university-level teaching and learning.

Students first explored the basic principles of flight, then worked together to design and build gliders, applying scientific and engineering knowledge at every stage, from developing an idea and choosing materials to assembling parts, refining the design, and testing the glider.
Building their own gliders helped students understand how different aircraft features — including wing shape, weight, weight distribution, and balance — affect flight performance. They also practiced analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

The flight tests were a particularly fun and exciting part of the activity. Each group flew the glider they had built, observed its performance, analyzed problems, and worked as a team to improve their design and help it fly more effectively.

The teachers, parents, and students also toured the Department’s laboratories, where they learned about the equipment, tools, and facilities used for aerospace engineering education and practical work.
The day was filled with curiosity, enjoyment, and learning. Along with helping students understand engineering principles through hands-on experience, the activity gave them an opportunity to discover their interests and consider future study paths.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering, Kasetsart University, is pleased to help create meaningful learning experiences and spark young people’s interest in aerospace engineering.
