The exclusive seminar “Engineering Tomorrow Talk: Smart Manufacturing — Bridging Research and Industrial Applications” was a resounding success, bringing together academia and industry. Organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kasetsart University in collaboration with MISUMI Thailand and the Thai-German Institute (TGI), the event took place on 22 September, 2026, in the main conference room on the fourth floor of Building 5.
The event drew an enthusiastic turnout of over 150 attendees, including entrepreneurs, industrial engineers, faculty members, and Kasetsart University engineering students. They came together to explore next-generation technologies shaping the future of industry.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr Wanchai Yodsudjai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

Deep-Dive Keynote Sessions from Industry & Academic Leaders
The Department extends its sincere gratitude to our distinguished guest speakers for sharing their knowledge, practical insights and hands-on experience:
Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0
Associate Professor Dr Worapong Sawangsri
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University
An in-depth look at cutting-edge research in IIoT (industrial internet of things) and automation, as well as academic and practical applications of smart factory systems.
Industrial Applications & Case Studies
Mr Pratchaya Indranupakorn
Director of the Thai-German Institute (TGI)
Real-world case studies on deploying intelligent systems to improve manufacturing and solve challenges in industrial plants.

Smart Manufacturing Solutions — LMAC & Sensor Applications
Technical Support Team, MISUMI Thailand
A detailed exploration of conveyor technologies (LMAC) and smart sensor integration tailored for modern factory environments.
Exclusive site visit: Experience “Engineering You Can Touch” at the MISUMI Learning Center
A major highlight was an exclusive tour of the MISUMI Learning Center (MLC), a dedicated hub for industrial components, design, and automation. The center launched on 8 March, 2026, as part of the Department’s 60th anniversary.

Created to connect “classroom → laboratory → real-world industry,” the MLC brings together a range of learning resources under the concept “”:
- Design & Knowledge Station: Computer-aided design facilities and a library of more than 1,000,000 globally standardized components.
- Industrial Components & Structure Zone: Displays of actual components — including linear motion, rotary, and pneumatic parts — complete with QR codes for pricing/use cases, alongside aluminium profile machinery structures.
- Automation Demo & Learning Space: Two functional automated production system demonstrations and a garden-inspired co-working space. The hands-on environment supports students as they work on capstone and senior projects and prepare for careers in smart factories.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering would like to thank all the speakers, MISUMI (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and the Thai-German Institute (TGI) for helping create this “dream learning space for engineers” and driving our industry-driven learning ecosystem forward.
Stay tuned for more world-class technology events and collaborations on our Engineering Tomorrow Park platform coming soon!
