On 3 September, 2026, the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, was pleased to welcome six exchange students from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), the Netherlands. The students will conduct research in Thailand under the Multidisciplinary Project from August to November 2026.

This group is the 10th cohort under the KU–TU Delft collaboration, which began in 2016 and is now entering its tenth year. On this occasion, the Department of Water Resources Engineering and TU Delft expanded their collaboration with our Faculty’s Department of Civil Engineering to conduct research in the Huai Hin Lat watershed in Chiang Rai Province. The research aims to support the development of near-real-time flash flood and landslide monitoring and forecasting systems for early warning and risk reduction in the agricultural sector and local communities.

Special thanks are extended to Prof Dr Thom Bogaard for his continued collaboration and support over nearly a decade — from student exchanges and joint research development to the application of research outcomes in Thailand.
The department would also like to thank Kasetsart University’s International Relations Division, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Agricultural Research Development Agency, or ARDA, for their vital support in promoting student exchanges, joint research development, and the continued expansion of academic and research collaboration between Kasetsart University and TU Delft.
