Welcoming International Exchange Students from Japan to Mechanical Engineering at KU

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, warmly welcomes undergraduate exchange students (B4) from partner universities in Japan to its official exchange and industrial internship programme in Thailand.

This programme marks another important step in connecting students, technology, and leading industries through hands-on learning. The three Japanese students will first undertake Thai-language preparation, cultural orientation, and campus-life activities at Kasetsart University before beginning their internships with global organizations:

  • Mitsuki Takei (B4) — Niigata Institute of Technology (NIIT)
Internship: Siam Denso Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (SDM)
Duration: Thai-language study at KU and a two-month internship, September–October
  • Narita Itsuki (B4) — Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT)
    Internship: Azbil (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Duration: One month of Thai-language study at KU in September, followed by a four-month internship from October to January
  • Sawamura Masaki (B4) — Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT)
Internship: Western Digital Storage Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (WD)
Duration: One month of Thai-language study at KU in September, followed by a four-month internship from October to January

Thai Cultural Immersion and Welcome Trip

Before the students travel to Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard region, specifically Chonburi, for their internships, the programme offers activities to integrate them and deepen their experience of Thai culture:

  • PTT Metro Forest Learning Center: Exploring innovations in expanding green space and environmental management in the heart of the city.
  • Wat Hong Thong, Chachoengsao Province: Learning about Thai culture, architecture, and riverside life along the Bang Pakong River.
  • Institute of Marine Science, Burapha University: Learning about Thailand’s marine ecosystems and biodiversity.

The department believes that this experience will not only strengthen the students’ engineering skills through real-world industrial practice, but also foster stronger international collaboration networks among educational institutions and industries in Thailand and Japan.
