September 1, 2024 – the Department of Water Resources Engineering warmly welcomed a group of four students from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Kingdom of the Netherlands, to participate in the 7th Multidisciplinary Project (MDP) in the Khlong Suan Mak river basin, Kamphaeng Phet Province. The project is overseen by Associate Professor Dr. Punpim Puttaruksa Mapiam, a faculty member from the Department of Water Resources Engineering, and Professor Dr. Thom Bogaard from TU Delft. The welcome and project meeting took place in the conference room of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
The Multidisciplinary Project (MDP) is a major collaboration between the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, and the Department of Water Management, TU Delft. It focuses on integrated research between water resources engineering and related fields such as environmental engineering, civil engineering, coastal engineering, and materials engineering. This collaboration began in 2017 and has continued to the present, now in its 7th iteration.
For the 7th MDP, the project focuses on developing technology for measuring sediment in rivers. It integrates water resources engineering and materials engineering, thus extending some of the collaboration to the Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University. Associate Professor Dr. Ratchatee Techapiesancharoenkij is the project supervisor. The project will run from September to November 2024, with support from the International Affairs Division of Kasetsart University, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization).
