The Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, is strengthening collaboration between academia and the private sector through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with ATTRA Inter Group Co., Ltd. and Mercury Tech Service Co., Ltd. These partnerships aim to develop an innovation ecosystem that connects education, research, technology, and university-based knowledge with practical industrial applications.
The collaboration focuses on developing innovative engineering professionals possessing skills aligned with the needs of future industries. It also seeks to progress university research and technologies towards commercial applications, enhancing the long-term competitiveness of Thai industry and the country as a whole.
The MOU signing ceremony was held on 29 June 2026 in Meeting Room 0203, 2nd Floor, Chuchart Kamphu Building, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University. Professor Dr Wanchai Yodsudjai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, presided over the ceremony.
Also attending as witnesses were Professor Dr Pornthida Ongkunaruk, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering; and Assistant Professor Dr Pornthep Anusornnitisarn, a lecturer in the Department of Industrial Engineering and academic collaboration coordinator. Both have played an important role in advancing the partnership between our university and the industrial sector.
Ms Waraporn Phaysri, Director of the Office of Innovation and Social Mission, together with executives and staff from the Kasetsart University Business Incubation Center (KUBIC), also attended the ceremony. Their participation reflects the role of Kasetsart University and KUBIC in supporting, incubating, and developing Thai technology entrepreneurs, while promoting the transfer of innovation and expertise into commercial use.
Representing the private sector, Mr Panupong Thanarakwuttikorn, Chief Executive Officer of ATTRA Inter Group Co., Ltd., signed on behalf of ATTRA. Mr Tonnan Song, Corporate Legal Representative of Mercury Tech Service Co., Ltd., signed on behalf of Mercury, with Mr Patchara Methajitiphan signing as a witness.

ATTRA CARD: Advancing Kasetsart University towards a Digital Campus
Under the partnership, ATTRA Inter Group Co., Ltd. will support the development of technology and innovation talent through the ATTRA CARD @ Kasetsart University platform, as part of efforts to transform Kasetsart University into a Digital Campus.
The project will connect university services and activities through digital technology while promoting hands-on learning through internships, cooperative education, research projects, and skills development aligned with the needs of industry in the digital era.
This approach will not only enrich the experience of students and staff, but also serve as an important mechanism for preparing engineering, technology, and innovation professionals to adapt and work effectively with businesses and industry.

Developing Maintenance Management and Smart Manufacturing
Mercury Tech Service Co., Ltd. will collaborate on the development of technologies and digital platforms to support manufacturing, engineering design, and maintenance management.
The partnership includes the development of maintenance management systems, digital equipment passport systems, asset databases, and data-analysis tools. These will improve the management of machinery, equipment, and resources within industrial operations.
The technologies can also be expanded into Smart Manufacturing applications by using data to support planning, equipment monitoring, maintenance, and management decision-making. This will help reduce the risk of machine downtime and improve production efficiency.
At the same time, the systems and platforms developed will be used as tools for teaching, research, and knowledge transfer from Kasetsart University to the manufacturing sector. This will allow students and researchers to learn from real-world challenges and develop technologies that directly respond to the needs of industry.
The collaboration also encompasses curriculum development, joint research, technology development, knowledge exchange, professional training, innovation development, and the commercialization of research outcomes. These efforts aim to build capable personnel who can meet the future needs of the industrial sector.
Professor Dr Wanchai Yodsudjai stated that the partnership reflects the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to integrating university knowledge into practical applications through collaboration with the private sector. Together, the partners will develop research, technologies, and highly skilled personnel — key mechanisms for strengthening the capacity of Thai industry.
Mr Panupong Thanarakwuttikorn added that the collaboration marks the beginning of connecting university knowledge with industrial experience and expertise to develop practical innovations. This includes workforce development, technology creation, and advancing research towards broader nationwide application.
The MOU signing between the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, ATTRA Inter Group Co., Ltd., and Mercury Tech Service Co., Ltd. is therefore another important step towards long-term cooperation among academia, business, and industry. Together, they will build a strong innovation ecosystem, develop high-quality talent, and sustainably advance technology for the benefit of Thailand’s manufacturing sector.
